# Multiline equations

simulacrum Oct 15, 2015 at 5:54 PM Edited Oct 15, 2015 at 6:05 PM What's the best way to write multiline equations similar to the align environment in LaTeX? I have noticed that if I use the Snippet environment and then \begin{align}...\end{align}, the numbering is different from the ~Equation environment. Also, the ~MathPre environment seems to work differently than align and doesn't produce best results in some cases (e.g. doesn't ignore whitespace). daan Coordinator Oct 15, 2015 at 6:33 PM Thanks for writing. I have good and bad news :-) Good: Use \begin{aligned} and \end{aligned} inside an ~Equation block to align equations. (see align vs. aligned) Bad: You cannot number individual lines inside such equation easily (there is another issue/discussion about this on codeplex). I still need to figure out a nice solution that works in Madoko across backends.
