`~Details: color=transparent` cannot control LaTeX equations in `~Details` block

I use the following metadata rule to omit details from a printed version distributed to students prior to a lecture:
~Details: color=transparent
This cannot control LaTeX equations. Is there a simple way to control them as well with a meta rule?

Similarly, if a word is marked in a different color in in ~Details block, that word cannot be controlled by the meta rule ~Details: color=transparent. Is there a simply way to force the control by the meta rule?

(The approach above is used together with ?print-pdf to prepare the printout retaining most of the layouts of the html slides.)
